Built by the university and the private sector, together.
The School was founded in 1989 as the Institute of Business — a collaboration between The University of the West Indies and the private sector, with founding investment from Royal Bank of Trinidad & Tobago, Republic Bank Ltd, Neal & Massy, Ansa McAl and Trinidad Cement Ltd.

1989
Founded as the Institute of Business
The School was established as the Institute of Business (IOB), a collaboration between The University of the West Indies and the private sector. Founding investors included Royal Bank of Trinidad & Tobago, Republic Bank Ltd, Neal & Massy, Ansa McAl and Trinidad Cement Ltd.
2003
AMBA accreditation
The School received programmatic accreditation from the UK-based Association of MBAs, placing it within the top 2% of business schools globally and giving graduates lifetime access to the AMBA network.
2005
The Mount Hope campus opens
In July 2005 the School opened the doors of its purpose-built facility at Mount Hope, Trinidad and Tobago.

The UWI-Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business
The School now offers degree programmes, executive short courses, professional certificates and bespoke corporate consulting, with an alumni body of over 3,000 graduates globally.
