Frequently asked questions.
The questions our Admissions team is asked most often. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
Frequently asked
Applying.
How do I apply?
Six steps: confirm your eligibility by email, pay the ALJGSB admissions fee, submit your supporting documents, pay the UWI processing fee, accept your offer letter, then settle tuition. The whole sequence is set out on how to apply.
What documents do I need?
An updated résumé, a copy of your birth certificate, the picture page of your national ID or passport, official transcripts or professional certificates, two referee references, and the programme information form. UWI graduates provide their UWI ID number instead of transcripts.
Is there an application deadline?
We do not publish a fixed deadline. Applications are assessed as they arrive and a place closes once the intake is full, so applying early matters more than any particular date. Confirm the current cycle with Admissions.
How long until I get a decision?
Once UWI approves your application, your offer letter is issued by email within 14 working days. You accept by replying to that email.
Do I have to be interviewed?
Mature entry candidates are interviewed to confirm eligibility, and an assessment interview is required for some routes — the Master of International Business and the Organizational Administration programmes among them. Entry routes are listed on entry requirements.
Frequently asked
Eligibility.
Is the GMAT or GRE required?
No. Neither the GMAT nor the GRE forms part of our entry requirements. Entry is assessed on your academic qualifications and professional experience.
Can I apply without a first degree?
Yes, on most programmes. Mature entry routes accept substantial professional experience in place of a degree — typically seven years at management or supervisory level, or five years for the Organizational Administration programmes. The MFM has no mature entry route.
Is there a limit on mature entry places?
Yes. On the programmes that operate the cap, places filled through mature entry are limited to 25% of the intake.
What if English is not my first language?
If you did not complete a first degree taught in English, you are required to submit a TOEFL score. Applicants whose bachelor’s degree was taught in English are exempt.
Frequently asked
Studying.
When do programmes start?
Programmes intake in September and January, and which applies depends on the programme. The intake is stated on each programme page — for instance September 2026 for the MBA, MHRM, MMM and MFM, and January 2027 for the MSMEM.
Can I study while working?
Yes. Our postgraduate programmes are delivered in an evening and Saturday class format built around working professionals. Some programmes are blended, combining virtual and face-to-face sessions.
How long do programmes take?
It varies. The Bachelor of International Business is three years full-time with CAPE or four with CSEC; the MFM runs 18 months; the Postgraduate Diploma in Organizational Administration eight months and the Graduate Certificate four. Each programme page states its own duration.
Frequently asked
Paying.
What does it cost?
Tuition for every programme where figures are published is on the tuition and fees page, in both local and regional rates. Fees are reviewed each intake, so confirm with Admissions.
Is GATE funding available?
GATE covers tuition in full for eligible citizens on approved undergraduate programmes, and 50% of tuition at postgraduate level. Eligibility and conditions are on our financial aid page. Check with Admissions whether your specific programme is GATE-approved.
When is tuition due?
Within five working days of receiving your offer letter.
How can I pay?
Manager’s cheque, debit or credit card at the North Campus, or direct deposit, online transfer or wire transfer. Personal cheques are not accepted. The UWI processing fee is paid separately, online or at Republic Bank.
