Six consulting engagements in more detail: what the client needed, what the work involved and, where the project was reported on, the coverage.
Trinidad and Tobago Civil Society Organisations for Business
Civil society organisations have the opportunity to influence the creation of policy, assist in its implementation and improve the functioning of government and public institutions. Networking among CSOs in Trinidad and Tobago has become more formalised since 2011 across areas of advocacy, as organisations work together to educate, lobby and share knowledge on how to source financing as an NGO. Interaction between them, however, remained limited.
Client: Civil society organisations that support business in Trinidad and Tobago
Funding agency: European Union
What the project involved
- Strengthening the capacity of forty national and local civil society organisations.
- Improving the effectiveness of CSOs in the decision-making and implementation of national and local policies related to business and the economy.
- Delivery through training, sub-grants and conferences.

Catalogue of Services for the Economic Empowerment of Women
The School developed a Catalogue of Services for the Economic Empowerment of Women as an output of the Spotlight Initiative, a global multi-year partnership between the European Union and the United Nations to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls by 2030. Trinidad and Tobago was one of six Caribbean countries selected to receive funding from the Initiative.
The catalogue is a resource guide for victims and survivors of gender-based violence seeking support services to enhance their economic security, autonomy and well-being, and can also be used by support organisations responding to violence against women and girls, including family violence.
Client: United Nations Population Fund
Funding agency: Joint European Union–United Nations Spotlight Initiative
